5 Fabulous Holiday Markets

Whether you prefer browsing, buying, sampling or savoring, immerse yourself in a holiday market this season. Stroll through one of these food- and gift-filled European and U.S. holiday markets and you may bring home more than just the spirit of the season.

Edinburgh Christmas Market, Edinburgh, Scotland

Through January 7. Perfect for Members staying at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Dunkeld in Perthshire, a peaceful Highlands escape about an hour and 15 minutes from Edinburgh.

Edinburgh continues its European Christmas Market tradition at East Princes Street Gardens. Travelers can wander amid the art, crafts, gifts and food for sale while listening to classic Christmas music. Additionally, through December 24, Scottish Market features some of the region’s best craft food and drinks, like locally produced sausage and beer, at the Street of Light near George Street.

Winter Village at Bryant Park, New York City

Through January 2. Ideal for Hilton Grand Vacations Club Members and Hilton Club Members staying at West 57th Street by Hilton Club, or Hilton Club Members staying at The Hilton Club–New York. Both resorts are in the heart of Manhattan, less than a mile from Bryant Park.

Bryant Park transforms into a winter village every year. It’s one of the largest outdoor markets in New York City, and holiday shoppers will find food, warm drinks, art, toys, decorative goods and more. Buy a cup of hot cider and browse gifts in the market’s “jewel box”-designed kiosks. Afterward, go ice skating on the city’s only free outdoor skating rink, situated in the center of the park.

From either The Hilton Club–New York or West 57th Street by Hilton Club, Club Members can walk less than a mile on Sixth Avenue to reach Winter Village at Bryant Park.

Óbidos Christmas Village, Óbidos, Portugal

Through January 3. Club Members staying at The Hilton Vilamoura Vacation Club, a contemporary resort in the southern marina town of Vilamoura, can reach the village in less than a three-hour, scenic drive.

Take a day trip to the medieval, west coast town of Óbidos to reach the Christmas Village. Decorated with ornaments and lights, the charming spot features markets selling handcrafted, local goods such as embroidery and painted clay pieces, as well as providing a day’s worth of family activities like ice skating, train rides, face painting and more. You can also visit Santa.

Embrace the tradition of German Christmas markets during Denver’s 16th annual Christkindl Market. Located downtown at Skyline Park, the market has more than just an assortment of unique gift vendors. There’s also music, crafts, food and beverages like glüehwein, a hot mulled wine popular in Germany during the holiday season.
