A Year in Review: The Best of 2017

As you flip your calendar page to December, it’s clear this year — a year full of incredible vacations and memories — has flown by. In 2017, Hilton Grand Vacations began celebrating its 25th anniversary, opened two new properties, welcomed a new cruise partner and much more. Meanwhile, Club Members ventured to new destinations, celebrated anniversaries, birthdays and shared treasured moments with loved ones.

Here are some of the biggest highlights from 2017.

  • Soaring above Waikiki’s white-sand beaches, The Grand Islander by Hilton Grand Vacations Club celebrated its grand opening in Honolulu in March. The 37-story property is the newest addition to the 22-acre Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.
  • March was a big month as Members also gained access to three additional resorts in Mexico—in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Playa del Carmen—thanks to Club affiliate Fiesta Americana.
  • In May, The District by Hilton Club celebrated its grand opening in Washington, D.C., conveniently located in the heart of the nation’s capital between Georgetown and Dupont Circle.
  • Members explored Alaska’s great frontier on the first 2017 ClubPartner Perk Grand Adventure cruise in June, while other Members were wined and dined on a 10-night “Beautiful Bordeaux” journey on the second 2017 Member cruise.
  • Speaking of cruises, Hilton Grand Vacations cruise options became better than ever this year thanks to new cruise partner CruisesOnly. Through this ClubPartner Perk, Members are offered options on all major cruise lines—Disney, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and more—at a best price guarantee.

As always, Member feedback is essential to enhancing the Club experience. Thanks to your input, Club rolled out a number of new initiatives in 2017.

  • HGV’s digital team worked to make vacation planning more efficient by rolling out dashboard enhancements and an improved booking engine. Members can now search across multiple properties and unit types in a location without having to refer to individual resort pages and easily shift travel dates to find what works.
  • Four Member Education events were hosted to help more than 391 Members learn how to make the most of membership.
  • Gathering additional Member feedback remained a major focus in 2017, and we received valuable insight on what you want to see through 10 surveys that engaged more than 30,000 Members. Club will continue reaching out for your thoughts throughout 2018, so keep an eye out for future opportunities to share what you think of your Club and how you’d like to see it grow.

This year also marked 25 years of Hilton Grand Vacations, and Club will soon be launching celebrations that will continue throughout 2018. In case you missed it, check out Club Traveler’s special fall anniversary edition full of Members’ vacation memories over the years. Not ready to stop celebrating? Neither are we! What’s next?

HGV has already announced two incredible 2018 ClubPartner Perk Grand Adventures—the Independence Day and Panama Canal cruises. Stay tuned in the new year as more exciting news is on the horizon. If you can’t wait, here are some hints: new digital updates, new cruise news and a new Elite-only luxury villa partner announcement are slated for early 2018.
