You already know to pack underwear, binoculars and your camera. Read on to glean some key geographically specific and super-smart packing tips from veteran cruisers.

Experience the Wonder of the Galápagos Islands, Sept. 20–30

A volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, the Galápagos Islands are one of the world’s best spots to see wildlife. Naturalist Charles Darwin put them on the map after his visit in 1835 inspired his theory of evolution. The brand-new Celebrity Flora, a 100-guest ship with 360-degree views, offers an up-close and intimate way for Club Members with Elite status to experience this magical destination. The cruise package includes a full-day guided tour of historical Quito and snorkeling excursions.

Learn more about this Elite offering to spend 10 nights on a land and sea adventure through the islands and Quito, Ecuador, aboard the awe-inspiring Celebrity Flora in partnership with CruisesOnly. Then call 888-492-6683 to book your spot today.

What to Pack
  • Water shoes: Protect your feet from underwater rocks as you wade to shore during island hops.
  • Your favorite underwater equipment: All snorkeling equipment—masks, snorkels, fins, wet suits and flotation devices—is included with the cruise package. But if you prefer to bring your own equipment, like a full-face mask, don’t forget to pack it.
  • Biodegradable sunscreen: Protect your skin from the equatorial sun and help protect the reefs from the harsh chemicals sometimes found in regular sunscreens.

Embark on a Breathtaking Alaskan Adventure, Aug. 7–18

Alaska is known as “The Last Frontier.” That’s no surprise, given that it’s home to more than half of the world’s glaciers, North America’s highest peak, 12,000 rivers and 3 million lakes—not to mention moose, grizzly bears and caribou. Explore it in style aboard the elegant Noordam, where your journey will take you on a Breathtaking Alaskan Adventure, beginning with an optional three-night, pre-cruise land tour of Anchorage and Denali National Park.

What to Pack
  • Rain jacket and umbrella: No one wants to spend the day feeling like a wet dog. It rains in Alaska, but the scenery is definitely worth braving a few drops.
  • Breathable clothing and options: With changing landscapes, you’ll want options. Consider a waterproof outer layer, a fleece pullover, leggings and wool socks to keep your feet toasty and dry.
  • Broken-in hiking boots: You can’t hike in heels or dress shoes. Tip: If your boots are new, avoid dealing with blisters during your cruise vacation by wearing them for a few weeks before saying bon voyage.

Get Ready for This Incredible Baltic Sea Golf Expedition, June 22–July 1

And if you’re passionate about golf, you can play a round on three of Europe’s finest courses—St. Petersburg’s Gorki Golf Club, Helsinki’s Hirsala Golf Club and Copenhagen’s The Scandinavian.

Contact 800-364-3656 or visit the CruisesOnly website to book this incredible expedition.

What to Pack
  • Lots of layers: The weather in this region is unpredictable, so layers will serve you well. Bring a waterproof outer layer, a fleece pullover for cooler days on the green and leggings or long underwear.
  • Your favorite golf hat: Keep your head shaded from the sun under a stylish ivy cap, gambler hat, fedora or Panama hat.
  • Comfortable walking shoes: Two words: cobbled streets.
