Club and Bonus Points

How are points extended year to year?

You can extend the life of your ClubPoints by visiting the Club website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. You can navigate to Manage My Points, where you will find the option to Save points. You can also call a Club Counselor at 1-800-932-4482 for assistance.

Why do you lose points after three years?

ClubPoints expire on December 31 of each calendar year. Each allocation of ClubPoints is tied to a week of accommodations every year. Inventory and Member use patterns are analyzed and inventory is allocated based on that. The program is designed for each Member to use their points for an option within the Club for that year. For those who are unable to vacation, the option of saving, converting to Hilton Honors or depositing in RCI, for a fee, is available. If we had no expiration date on points, we would eventually not have enough inventory to accommodate our Members’ needs in the future.

What are Bonus Points, and how can you use them?

Bonus Points are additional or “bonus” Club currency. They are awarded with your purchase of a vacation ownership interest or through Club affiliated programs and ClubPartner relationships. Bonus Points are valid for a maximum of two years. Bonus Points can be redeemed for reservations at Club resorts during Home Resort and Club reservation windows, ClubPartner Perks, hotel reservations at participating properties in the Hilton portfolio of brands, RCI exchange vacations, specialty merchandise and gift certificates, conversion to Hilton Honors points, or used toward annual maintenance fees.

Why can't the Club and Bonus Points be combined?

ClubPoints and Bonus Points have unique expiration dates and this is why we are unable to combine the two for a Club reservation.

Is there a way to get more Bonus points?

Bonus Points are awarded with your purchase of a vacation ownership interest or through Club affiliated programs and ClubPartner relationships.

How would I know when my Bonus Points expire?

Please visit your Club Member website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. Once you log in, you will see Points across the top of the screen (or in the drop-down menu). Click on Points, and you will be taken to your Points Dashboard. There you will see your Bonus Points listed along with the issue date and expiration date.

We earned Bonus Points in January when we purchased our membership. Can I extend for next year?

Bonus Points are good for two years from the date received. They are not extended past that date.

When points are granted in January of a given year, are they used for vacations in that year, or in the next year?

ClubPoints are awarded January 1 and expire December 31 of each calendar year. They are used for vacations in the current year. If you do not use your ClubPoints in the current calendar year, you can stretch them into the next year by Saving them and they will be added to your ClubPoints for next year. Another option would be to deposit them to RCI, where they will have another two years of use.

What if one is on an every other year plan? Can you borrow points to use for 2017 from 2019?

You can borrow back points one year. So, in your situation, your 2019 ClubPoints can be utilized in 2019 or can be borrowed back to be used in 2018. If you wanted to combine your 2017 and 2018 points, you could do that for use in 2018. You would Save your 2017 points into 2018 and then borrow back your 2019 points into 2018.

What happens if you are a few points short? Is there any way to get additional points for a single use?

ClubPoints are tied to the vacation ownership real estate interest. They cannot be sold outside the purchase of the real estate. If you do not have enough ClubPoints in this year’s allotment to confirm a reservation that you want to make, you are able to Borrow from next year’s allotment to make the reservation. If you find that you are consistently needing more ClubPoints than you currently have, you may want to speak to our Direct Sales department to increase your ClubPoints allotment by upgrading your ownership. They will review the options that are available to you.

I own at two separate resorts. If I deposit my time into HGV, does it all go into one pot of points?

Yes, you have one account as a Club Member.

Can you gift points or stays to non-Members?

You can add a guest certificate to all reservations except Open Season Rental reservations. Book the reservation that you want to gift, and then add on the guest certificate with the guest’s information. This can be done online or by calling a Club Counselor.

How about exchanging Points for cruises?

ClubPartner Perks cruise travel options through CruisesOnly, the HGV Club cruise partner, include all major cruise lines and a “best price guarantee” commitment. Please visit your Club Member website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. Go to Club Membership -> ClubPartner Perks -> Cruise for more information and link to the CruisesOnly exclusive website for Club Members.

Is there a set fee for turning points into RCI, or does it vary?

There is a set fee for depositing your ClubPoints to RCI. The current 2017 fees are: $109 by phone or $99 online.

Is Elite status based on cumulative points? How do you get to Elite status?

There are currently three tiers of Elite recognition privileges. Vacation ownership interests must be acquired directly from Hilton Grand Vacations. ClubPoints acquired through unrelated third parties do not qualify toward Elite.

Elite Status = 14,000 ClubPoints annually
Elite Plus = 24,000 ClubPoints annually
Elite Premier = 34,000 ClubPoints annually

Ownership & Home Week

How do we determine our Home Week?

Please log into your Club Member website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. On the Member Dashboard at the bottom, you will find your Home Week listed.

Is there an advantage to owning at multiple properties?

Where you choose to purchase and vacation is really a personal choice. If you have a specific location that you like to travel to, it makes a lot of sense to purchase at that property so that you can take advantage of the Home Week Priority window.

If Home Week is auto booked, what happens if we miss it and don't cancel it?

If you own a Fixed Home Week that is auto booked for you and the date passes without you traveling or cancelling the reservation the ClubPoints associated with that reservation will be forfeited for that year.

It seems like Home Week Priority can overlap Club Season.

The Home Week Priority Window is from 365 to 276 days before check-in date. During this Priority window, the only other people who will be booking the same thing you are booking are those who own exactly what you own. The Home Week window remains open until 0 days prior to check-in. The Club Season Window opens 276 days prior to check-out date. So, the Home Week Window and Club Season Window do overlap. But there is no overlap between the Home Week Priority Window and Club Season Window.

Can I "exchange” my home property for another?

You can certainly book into another resort during the Club Season reservation window. This is a great way to explore all properties in the HGV resort collection.

Hilton Honors

How do I convert ClubPoints to Hilton Honors Points?

You can convert your ClubPoints to Hilton Honors Points by going online to the Club Member website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. You can navigate to Manage My Points and there you will find the option to convert points to Hilton Honors. You can also call a Club Counselor at 1-800-932-4482 for assistance.

Can I convert Hilton Honors points to ClubPoints points?

Hilton Honors points cannot be converted to ClubPoints. Once ClubPoints are converted to Hilton Honors points, they will remain in your Hilton Honors account until you choose to use them.

Do Hilton Honors points merge for Elite status?

Hilton Honors points do not combine with ClubPoints for Elite status within the HGV Club program. There are different membership levels within the Hilton Honors program and different benefits which accompany each level. You can find out more about the Hilton Honors membership benefits by visiting www.hiltonhonors.com.

How can we find restaurants participating in the Hilton Honors program? When making reservations through HGV for stays at properties in the Hilton portfolio of brands do we get a better rate than booking directly with the hotel?

Please visit the Hilton Honors Dining website at www.hiltonhonors.com to book your reservation online, or you can call a Hilton Honors representative at 1-800-HILTONS (1-800-445-8667). The rates are the same through HGV or Hilton Honors when using Honors points. If you are paying cash, rates may vary at different websites or at the hotel itself.

Are these ClubPoints only used for Hilton Grand Vacations locations, or can I plan a stay at a regular Hilton, say in Huntington Beach?

ClubPoints can be converted to Hilton Honors Points to be used for booking a hotel reservation.

If you earn Diamond status with Hilton Honors, does that give you Elite status with HGV?

Your Hilton Honors status and Elite status with Hilton Grand Vacations are separate. To qualify for Elite status, you need to own 14,000 or more ClubPoints annually.

Reservations

Why is there a fee to call in?

The Club Fee structure is analyzed annually. The fees are associated with the services provided on an a la carte basis. In other words, you pay for the options you elect to use. If you choose to use your Home Week, there is no additional cost for that option. Also, Club fees support the operation of the Club to include toll-free phone service, Club Traveler Magazine, websites, etc.

On the reservation windows, some give a termination date relative to check-in and others are relative to check-out. Is this right?

That is correct. The Home Week reservation window is based on the check-in date. In order to keep the integrity of the Home Week reservation window, all other reservation windows are based on the check-out date.

If I am short points, can I pay the balance in cash?

You are unable to pay the balance in cash. If you find that you are consistently needing more ClubPoints than you currently have, you may want to speak to our Direct Sales department to increase your ClubPoints allotment by upgrading your membership. They will review the options that are available to you.

Can other Members use New York locations?

HGV Club Members are able to book into West 57th Street and The Residences properties in New York. They have slightly different booking windows, so be sure to take a look at the Booking Window chart to see when Club Reservations are open to book for these properties. Remember, at all of our properties, inventory is available on a first-come basis.

Does "exclusive Member rates" for Open Season Reservations mean that fewer points are required per night than what's shown in the Resorts Season Chart? If yes, what's a typical discount?

ClubPoints are not used for Open Season Rental reservations. These reservations utilize cash/credit. These rates are located on your Club Member website at club.hiltongrandvacations.com. Once you log in, go to the Help section and then Resources. There you will find the fee chart to include Open Season Rental Rates.

Any way to get same-day reservations for Open Season?

Open Season reservations may be booked for same-day arrival at the majority of our resorts. Same-day Open Season Rental reservations may be made by calling a Club Counselor.

Do you have to be out of points in order to book open season?

You do not have to be out of ClubPoints in order to book Open Season Rental reservations. This is a benefit provided to our Members that you can choose to utilize or not.

Do we always have to start our stay on the designated check-in day?

If you are making a Home Week reservation, you must check in on the resort’s designated check-in day of the week. If you are making a Home Resort reservation, Club reservation, or Open Season reservation, you may check in any day of the week.

When you see the Open Season rates online, does that include tax?

When searching for Open Season availability on the website, the cost that is displayed does not include tax. If you continue with the process of booking the reservation, the taxes will be added to the reservation before you check out and pay for the reservation.
