Welcome to Nairobi, where city life meets the wild. Nairobi National Park, the only national park within a city, is Kenya’s oldest and offers thriving wildlife alongside sweeping views of the urban skyline.

The remainder of your day is at your leisure.

Accommodations: Nairobi Serena Hotel or similar

Day 2: Sunday, July 11, 2027 | Nairobi National Park Game Drive, Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Center
View Itinerary

Your morning begins with a guided safari game drive through Nairobi National Park. As the animals begin their daily activities, keep watch for sightings of local wildlife including white and black rhinos, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas and buffalo.

After your game drive, visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, known for its Orphans' Project — the world’s first and most successful elephant orphan rescue and rehabilitation program.

Next, enjoy lunch in the gardens at the Karen Blixen Museum. Nestled at the foot of Ngong Hills, the museum offers insight into the life of the Danish author, whose autobiographical book, Out of Africa was first published in 1937 and later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film.

After lunch, get a closer look at the tallest members of the wildlife world at the Giraffe Center. Founded in 1979 to protect the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe — a subspecies found only in East Africa — the center offers a unique opportunity to learn about conservation efforts and even hand‑feed these gentle giants.

Established through a partnership between Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary offers lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. To ensure the well‑being of the chimps and create a more intimate experience, visits are conducted in small groups of six.
