Welcome to Reykjavik. Dating back to 870 A.D., Reykjavik has a rich history and culture. This small yet lively city is brimming with iconic sites, natural beauty, local delicacies and lively cafes. Landmarks like the Hallgrimskirkja church, Harpa Concert Hall and the Sun Voyager sculpture are conveniently located within easy walking distance.

In the evening, enjoy a refined dining experience at Bryggjuhúsið restaurant, where a thoughtfully curated four-course menu highlights fresh local ingredients and modern Icelandic flavors in a cozy harborfront setting.

Day 2: Tuesday, August 17, 2027 | Thrihnukagigur Volcano Hike

In the morning, take a motorcoach to Thrihnukagigur volcano, the only place on earth where you can access a magma chamber. Join an expert guide for a moderately challenging 2‑mile hike across a rugged lava field before exploring this remarkable subterranean site. At the base of the crater, you’ll break into smaller groups and descend approximately 400 feet by cable lift into the magma chamber.

After you ascend from the crater base, enjoy a tasty bowl of Icelandic meat or vegetable soup and a hot beverage before hiking back to your starting point.

Day 3: Wednesday, August 18, 2027 | Thingvellir National Park, Farm Lunch, Strokkur Geyser, Gullfoss and Laugarás Lagoon

Depart Reykjavik and begin your journey along Iceland’s iconic Golden Circle, a full day of exploring breathtaking landscapes. Your first stop is Thingvellir National Park, considered the birthplace of the Icelandic nation. Explore this dramatic rift valley, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, creating a striking continental divide. Continue your journey to the Fridheimer greenhouse tomato farm, where you’ll enjoy lunch featuring fresh tomatoes grown on site.

After lunch, visit Strokkur geyser and witness powerful bursts of hot water shooting up to 100 feet into the air approximately every six minutes. Then continue to the iconic Gullfoss waterfall, where you’ll admire the immense force and beauty of its two cascading drops plunging into the Gullfossgjufur Canyon.

Finish the day with a rejuvenating experience at Laugarás Lagoon.

This day’s Golden Circle adventure concludes in the picturesque town of Vik.

Day 4: Thursday, August 19, 2027 | Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, Guided Glacier Walk and Ice Cave Tour

Remarkable photo opportunities await as you travel along the Ring Road and explore the South Shore, renowned for its black sandy beaches and waterfalls.

Your first stop is at the iconic Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss — must-see waterfalls beloved by nature lovers and photographers alike.

Then, you’ll join an expert guide for a thrilling glacier and ice cave excursion. Travel by modified Super Jeep to a remote area of the glacier, where you’ll be outfitted with a helmet, headlamp and crampons. After a safety briefing, set out on a guided walk across the ice and descend into a glacier ice cave, exploring an otherworldly landscape of deep blacks and shimmering blues.

On your way back to Vik, stop at Dyrholaey Nature Reserve for a postcard-worthy shot of the towering basalt column cliffs and vast black sand beaches.

HOSTED TRIPS POINTS FOR TRAVEL: Reservations must be booked by January 29, 2027. Nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $2,500/£1,850 per person is due at the time of booking. Tour itinerary activities in this region may be subject to favorable weather conditions. The average elevation on this hosted trip is 430 meters or 1,410 feet. There are certain inherent risks in this Hosted Trip and all activities are undertaken at the traveler’s own risk. The silica in the Blue Lagoon water could damage jewelry and can be hard on hair. Different types of hair can be affected differently by the Blue Lagoon's geothermal seawater. It is recommended to coat your hair in the complimentary conditioner. Average temperature in Iceland will be 55° F or 13° C. It is not permitted to take rocks from Thrihnukagigur volcano. Thrihnukagigur volcano floor terrain can be rocky and uneven. A walking pole is suggested if mobility is a concern. Alcoholic beverages are only available to travelers who are 18 years or older. Hotels may differ from those listed by the tour provider, but the accommodations selected are of equivalent standard. Your hotels will be available in your final documents approximately 2–3 weeks prior to departure. No compensation is provided for alternative hotel stays not listed in the tour provider’s documentation.

A passport valid for six months past the end date of this trip is required for all Guests. The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will start operations in 2026.
