Welcome to Albuquerque, home to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Surrounded by mountains and the high desert, the city is known for its mild year-round climate, thriving art scene and historic sites. Albuquerque is a modern city rich in Native American and Hispanic heritage.

In the evening, join your host and fellow travelers for a welcome dinner followed by a special presentation from a local balloonist.

Day 2: Wednesday, October 6, 2027 | Balloon Opening Ceremony, Mass Balloon Ascension, Balloon Glow and Fireworks

Experience the pre-dawn Opening Ceremonies and the Mass Balloon Ascension, when all participating balloons launch into the sky in a breathtaking display. Then visit the International Balloon Museum to learn about the history of ballooning, followed by free time in town.

In the evening, enjoy the beloved Balloon Glow — an Albuquerque tradition that began in 1979. As night falls, the balloons illuminate the sky when pilots ignite their burners in unison, followed by the spectacular After-Glow fireworks show.

Travel along the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway to Santa Fe, passing through the dramatic foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Centrally located in the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico, Santa Fe is a popular destination for artists and art lovers.

Enjoy a city tour of Santa Fe, where you’ll see the Palace of the Governors, the State Capitol and Loretto Chapel’s “Miracle Stairway.” Then step back in time at Bandelier National Monument, where you’ll explore the cliff dwellings of the ancient Ancestral Puebloans. Discover petroglyphs, pictographs and age-old structures set within a rugged canyon landscape, revealing more than 11,000 years of human history.

Later in the afternoon, return to downtown Santa Fe for free time.

HOSTED TRIPS POINTS FOR TRAVEL: Reservations must be booked by March 26, 2027. Nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $500/£375 per person is due at the time of booking. Final payment due by June 11, 2027. Any combination of permitted points and cash or credit card is an applicable form of payment towards a Hosted Trip vacation. Point values applied under this benefit are subject to change and may vary based on tier level. All trips are subject to availability and will be conducted in English. All participants are required to sign the General Activity Release and Indemnification Agreement acknowledgement and to complete the Globus Guest Acknowledgement online process. Price is per person based on double occupancy, land tour only, for tour dates outlined above. Hosted Trip package includes all Globus inclusions plus these additional inclusions: some meals; one ticket per paying passenger for included excursions as noted in itinerary which may require an extra waiver to participate and have other restrictions/qualifications based on height, age and weight; on-tour motorcoach transportation; gratuities for Globus tour director, tour guides and drivers; taxes; and airport transfers. Albuquerque arrival transfers are included on the tour start date of October 5, 2027, and Albuquerque departure transfers are included on the tour end date of October 9, 2027, provided that Guest arrival and departure flight or alternative travel details are received at least 90 days prior for domestic travelers and 120 days prior for international travelers before tour commencement. Not included: airfare; airline baggage fees; airport or departure taxes; travel insurance; car rental; gratuities for hotel housekeepers; alcohol, beverages and food outside the contracted Globus menu as presented at a dining venue; optional excursions; and all other items of a personal nature.

Tour itinerary activities in this region may be subject to favorable weather conditions. Hot-air balloon rides must be arranged by the Guest at their own risk. Balloon rides must be scheduled on Day 2 of the tour. Refunds are not provided for missed sightseeing scheduled in conflict with a Guest’s extracurricular balloon ride. The Balloon Fiesta schedule of events is subject to change and will be confirmed on tour. Guests should be prepared for sustained walking and standing. Alcoholic beverages are only available to travelers who are 21 years or older. Hotels may differ from those listed by the tour provider, but the accommodations selected are of equivalent standard. Your hotels will be available in your final documents approximately 2–3 weeks prior to departure. No compensation is provided for alternative hotel stays not listed in the tour provider’s documentation.
