Day 2: Thursday, May 20, 2027 | Amazon River Motorboat, Nature Walk and Canoeing

In the morning, join your HGV host and fellow travelers and fly to Puerto Maldonado to explore Peru’s Amazon jungle.

With weather permitting and optimal water levels, you’ll start with a motorboat ride up the Madre de Dios River to observe the biodiverse jungle and search for local wildlife. Keep an eye out for black-capped squirrel monkeys, red howler monkeys, ocelots, giant anteaters and the elusive jaguar.

With lodging in the heart of the Amazon, you’ll be fully immersed in the jungle and surrounded by local wildlife and native flora.

After checking into your jungle lodge, you’ll embark on a nature walk with an experienced naturalist. Then you’ll explore the river again with a canoe ride. Lift your gaze to the vivid constellations and learn about the ecosystem and nocturnal animals from your guide.

Day 3: Friday, May 21, 2027 | Tambopata National Reserve, Canopy Walk and Guided Night Walk

Begin your morning with a guided nature walk through Tambopata National Reserve, home to over 1,000 species of butterflies, 100 species of mammals and around 600 species of birds. Then glide around Lake Sandoval on a scenic canoe ride, watching for giant river otters, blue and yellow macaws, howler monkeys and black caimans.

In the afternoon, experience a breathtaking canopy walk across seven suspension bridges hanging more than 100 feet from the ground. From this view, look for white-throated toucans, squirrel monkeys and three-toed sloths.

After dinner, join a guided night walk in search of nocturnal monkeys, armadillos, frogs, insects and maybe even snakes.

Day 4: Saturday, May 22, 2027 | Native Farm, Brazil Nut Cabin and Inland Clay Licks

Enjoy a morning visit to a native farm where you’ll learn about ancient crop-growing methods and sample some of the fresh local produce. Continue to a botanical garden to discover the region’s medicinal plants and their traditional uses.

Next, visit the Brazil Nut Cabin to learn the story of the Brazil nut — the only commercial nut found exclusively in the Amazon — and how it’s been harvested for generations.

After lunch, relax with a canoe ride across an oxbow-shaped lagoon. Admire the native plants and keep an eye out for the Hoatzin, a unique (and distinctly smelly) rainforest bird. You’ll also spot the remains of the partially submerged steamboat, Fitzcarrald.

Your Amazon adventure concludes with a visit to the Inland Clay Lick, where steep red-clay walls attract colorful macaws that gather to eat the mineral-rich clay — a behavior believed to supplement their diet.

Day 5: Sunday, May 23, 2027 | Amazon Boat Ride and Flight to Lima

Day 6: Monday, May 24, 2027 | Lima City Tour and Local Food Market

Lima Government Palace and Cathedral

Enjoy a relaxing morning before beginning an afternoon walking tour of Lima’s colonial center, including the Government Palace and cathedral. During your tour, you’ll stop at a local food market to sample regional fruits and vegetables.

In the evening, you’ll visit a local restaurant with your host and fellow travel companions.

Day 7: Tuesday, May 25, 2027 | Sacred Valley Ancient Sites and Pisaq Free Time

In the morning, you’ll take a short flight to Cusco, the imperial city of the Incas, and journey into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the ancient ceremonial site of Kenko Amphitheater and the Inca military ruins of Puca Pucara.

After exploring the ancient sites in the Sacred Valley, you’ll enjoy two cultural immersion experiences, beginning with an authentic Pago a la Tierra (Mother Earth Ceremony) performed by a local shaman. You’ll then meet local families to learn about traditional weaving techniques using alpaca and llama fleece — and even spend some time with some of the animals themselves.

Continue to Pisaq, an old mountain village, for free time to shop for local handmade goods such as alpaca sweaters and blankets, jewelry and hand-painted ornamental dishes and vases.

In the evening, you’ll enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 8: Wednesday, May 26, 2027 | Ollantaytambo, Local Experience and Machu Picchu

Begin the morning with a visit to the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo, the historic gateway to Machu Picchu. After exploring this impressive archaeological site, you’ll enjoy a cultural home experience, visiting a local family to gain insight into daily life in the Sacred Valley.

Then board a train offering panoramic views of the Urubamba Valley as you journey to the legendary Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. The scenic rail ride brings you to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, where a short bus ride takes you to the entrance of Machu Picchu. As you walk among the dramatic terraces and monumental stone walls seamlessly blended into the mountainside, your guide will share stories about the site’s history, engineering and cultural significance.

In the evening, enjoy dinner with your host and fellow travelers — and perhaps try Peru’s signature cocktail, the Pisco Sour.

Enjoy a free morning — including an option to take the first bus for early entrance to Machu Picchu to watch the sunrise above the mountains — before lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, you’ll take the train back to the Sacred Valley and board the motorcoach for your journey back to Cusco. After checking into your accommodations, the evening is at your leisure.

Begin the day with a guided tour of Cusco, starting in the main square, the Plaza de Armas, which is surrounded by colonial buildings dating back to the Inca Empire. You’ll visit the imposing Cusco Cathedral, the Koricancha Temple and the Santo Domingo Monastery, and even witness a traditional folk dance.

Next, you’ll head to the Temple of Sacsayhuaman, a massive stone fortress perched on a hillside overlooking Cusco, to learn about its Incan architecture and history.

In the evening, join your host and fellow travelers for a festive farewell dinner.

HOSTED TRIPS POINTS FOR TRAVEL: Reservations must be booked by November 6, 2026. A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $500/£375 per person is due at the time of booking. Final payment is due by January 8, 2027. Any combination of permitted points and cash or credit card is an applicable form of payment towards a Hosted Trip vacation. All participants are required to sign the General Activity Release and Indemnification Agreement acknowledgement and complete the Globus Guest Acknowledgement online process. Hosted Trip package includes all Globus inclusions plus: select meals; round-trip airfare between Lima and Puerto Maldonado, round-trip airfare between Lima and Cusco; one ticket per paying passenger for included excursions noted in the itinerary which may require an extra waiver to participate and have other restrictions/qualifications based on height, age and weight; on-tour motorcoach transportation; gratuities for the Globus tour director, tour guides and drivers; applicable taxes, and airport transfers. Lima arrival transfers are included on the tour start date of May 19, 2027, and Lima departure transfers are included on the tour end date of May 30, 2027, provided that Guest arrival and departure flight or alternative travel details are received at least 90 days prior for domestic travelers and 120 days prior for international travelers before tour commencement. Not included: airfare to/from Peru; airline baggage fees; airport or departure taxes; travel insurance; car rental; gratuities for hotel housekeepers; alcohol, beverages and food outside the contracted Globus menu as presented at a dining venue; optional excursions; and all other items of a personal nature.

Tour activities in this region may be subject to favorable weather conditions. Elevations exceed 10,000 feet, with a maximum elevation of 13,000 feet. Travelers should be prepared for sustained walking, uneven terrain and muddy conditions, and should be able to get into/out of small watercrafts such as canoes and small fishing boats. Itinerary is subject to change in low or high-water situations. The Hacienda Concepción is a rustic lodge in the middle of the rainforest. Travelers should be in good physical condition and able to walk without difficulty. Due to weight and space limitations on the boat transfer to the lodge, luggage is limited to 25 pounds (11 kg) per person. Lodge rooms have ceiling fans but no air conditioning; the rooms are screened-in. Electricity is turned off between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. Kerosene lanterns and flashlights are provided at night. For Machu Picchu overnight stay, travelers may bring an overnight bag weighing no more than 17 pounds, due to train luggage restrictions. Main luggage will be stored at the Cusco hotel. Alcoholic beverages are available only to travelers who are 18 years or older. Hotels may differ from those listed by the tour provider, but will be of equivalent standard. Final hotels details will be provided in your travel documents approximately 2–3 weeks prior to departure. No compensation is provided for alternative hotel stays that differ from those originally listed.

A passport valid for six months past the trip’s end date is required for all Guests. Travelers must ensure immigration officials record their entry into Peru upon arrival. An entry record (such as a passport stamp) is required even at remote land border crossings. Failure to receive an entry record will prevent you from exiting the country until confirmed through Superintendencia Nacional de Migraciones (Immigration). This process may take several weeks and may result in an exit fine and up to a 15-year ban on reentering Peru. U.S. citizens should visit travel.state.gov for additional information. Non-U.S. citizens should consult their country’s authority. Entry requirements may vary for passport holders from other countries. Entry visas for other nationalities may be required. Visa requirements are subject to change at any time. International visitor entry requirements are subject to change at any time. In addition to passport and visa requirements, some countries may have additional requirements.
