Welcome to Barcelona, home to famous Gaudí landmarks such as the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, a historic Gothic Quarter, and beautiful city parks. Cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, chic cafés and world-class architecture make this coastal Mediterranean city a perfect blend of history and local charm.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with your HGV host and fellow travelers.

Day 2: Sunday, May 30, 2027 | Montserrat, City Tour and Dinner with Sangria

Visit the mountain, monastery and sanctuary of Montserrat. Enjoy a guided excursion of this uniquely shaped massif located in the heart of Catalonia.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Barcelona, highlighting the Columbus Monument, Plaça de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia. You’ll stop for photos in front of the Sagrada Família, visit the historic concert hall Palau de la Música Catalana and take in panoramic views from Montjuïc hill.

In the afternoon, travel to the well-preserved fortress town of Toledo, perched above the Tagus River. This former capital of Spain is a cultural melting pot of Jewish, Islamic and Christian influences and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Explore Lisbon with a morning Pick Your Experience excursion:

Day 10: Monday, June 7, 2027 | Pico da Barrosa, Tea Plantation and Furnas

Enjoy a full day exploring the Azores. Take in sweeping views from Pico da Barrosa, overlooking Lagoa do Fogo within a volcanic crater. Continue to the small and picturesque village of Maia to visit Europe’s oldest tea plantation, learning about tea cultivation methods dating back to 1883.

Travel to Furnas to explore geothermal landscapes and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later, stroll through one of the world’s most beautiful botanical gardens, surrounded by azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias and lush native flora.

Day 11: Tuesday, June 8, 2027 | Whale and Dolphin Cruise, Pico do Carvão and Sete Cidades

This morning, enjoy a whale-and-dolphin-watching cruise to search for more than 20 species that inhabit or migrate through the Azorean waters, a marine wildlife oasis. Migratory Atlantic spotted dolphins, striped dolphins and pilot whales use the waterways as their natural point of passage, while sperm whales and bottlenose dolphins call the Azores their permanent home.

In the afternoon, visit a pineapple plantation, then continue to Pico do Carvão viewpoint for panoramic views of rolling hills and volcanic landscapes. End the day in Sete Cidades, admiring the famous twin Green and Blue Lakes separated by a narrow bridge and surrounded by lush greenery.

Tour itinerary activities in this region may be subject to favorable weather conditions. The highest elevation for São Miguel is 1,103 meters (3,619 ft). Services of the Globus Tour Director end on day 9; the island portion includes services of a local expert. Alcoholic beverages are only available to travelers 18 years or older. When visiting religious landmarks, sacred sites or places of worship, it is important to dress modestly and respectfully. It is customary to cover shoulders, chest and knees and a head scarf may be required for women. Hats or headbands may need to be removed. Hotels may differ from those listed by the tour provider, but the accommodations selected are of equivalent standard. Your hotels will be available in your final documents approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure. No compensation is provided for alternative hotel stays not listed in the tour provider’s documentation.

A passport valid for six months past the end date of this trip is required for all Guests. The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will start operations in 2026. Spanish rules do not permit the international shipment of medications. Most cities in Spain and Portugal ban drinking alcohol in the street, except at registered cafes and bars.
