Set Sail Toward Costa Rica, the Caribbean, Panama and More
Hop aboard Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess as you embark to explore none other than the Panama Canal. The second 2018 ClubPartner Perk Grand Adventure will depart from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida, before making its way to the following ports of call:
- George Town, Grand Cayman
- Cartagena, Colombia
- Panama Canal (Partial Transit)
- Colon, Panama
- Puerto Limon, Costa Rica
- Falmouth, Jamaica
Along the 10-night journey beginning October 8, 2018, you’ll see one of the greatest feats of engineering in action, the Panama Canal. The 48-mile-long canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans through a series of interlocking chambers. After marveling at the famous waterway in Colon, you’ll have an opportunity to explore the country’s incredible rainforest which holds roughly 10,000 plant species and 900 bird species. And if you love this, you’ll be thrilled about the exclusive Member excursion in Costa Rica.
Exclusive Member Excursion to Costa Rica’s Rainforest
In Costa Rica, Members will embark on one of National Geographic’s Top Ten Adventure Destinations in the world (2015), a private outing that includes an aerial treetop flight over the rainforest, a nature walk and lunch. After enjoying a welcome with tropical refreshments, Members will board gondolas to embark on a roughly 90-minute tram ride over an incredible 1,200-acre private conservation area connected with Braulio Carrillo National Park — Costa Rica’s second largest national park. Take in a bird’s-eye view and try to spot as many of the area’s 600 tree species, 530 bird species and more than 135 mammal species as you can. (Don’t worry if you can’t find them all; your guide will help you spot some of the area’s most hidden beauties.)
You’ll then be treated to a rainforest lunch and tropical juices. Finally, you’ll explore the first layer of the forest’s floor on a guided nature walk, with an opportunity to visit the Butterfly Garden and the Hummingbird Gallery, as well as the Orchids Garden and Terrarium.
