It’s hard to believe it, but the winter holidays are just around the corner.
Looking for a festive getaway during the season of snowmen, turkeys, candy canes and chestnuts roasting on the open fire? Consider Orlando your destination. This fun Florida town puts on a show year-round, so you can count on it knocking the holidays out of the park.
To find out what really makes this city special during the holidays, Club Traveler went straight to the source and asked Raul A., general manager at Hilton Grand Vacations Club at SeaWorld, for his thoughts. Not only did Raul share why he personally loves Orlando during this time of year, but he also revealed useful area- and property-specific tips and attractions for Club Members looking to plan a merry Southern escape this holiday season.
Club Traveler (CT): Why do you think Orlando is a great place to visit during the holiday season?
Raul A. (RA): The weather is perfect during November and December in Orlando, [and this] provides an awesome opportunity to visit the theme parks that are beautifully decorated for the season. If you are looking for fun without visiting the parks, there are plenty of experiences in Orlando that provide a festive feel. Visit the Orlando Eye, museums [like the Orlando Science Center], theaters or a wide variety of restaurants to keep you entertained while still celebrating the season.

CT: Do you have any insider tips for Members looking to visit Orlando during this time of year?
RA: Remember to take days for yourself. It’s Orlando and it is exciting, [but] you have to remember to relax, though. If you are coming to visit the theme parks specifically, go later in the day. That way you can see the parks lit up. Also, the crowds typically slow down at night for attractions. Another big tip is to download the apps for any parks you plan on visiting. These are very helpful to keep your visit efficient and in making the most of your time [in the park].
CT: Do you have insider tips for Members who are specifically looking to stay at your property, Hilton Grand Vacations Club at SeaWorld, during the holiday season?
RA: Our property is the perfect place to stay year-round, and during the holiday season we really enhance the experience. We have a wide variety of activities and show nightly movies in our on-site movie theater. We also do a weekly tree lighting ceremony that Santa and his elves attend, [with] cookies and hot cocoa for all. Our Coral Reef Bar & Grille has daily food and drink specials to help you unwind without having to lift a finger.
